Iris and Milo the Rabbit Waldorf inspired doll
Iris’s name came to me right after I have finished making her eyes. It reminded me of a flower that is called the same name. What is more I have learned that Iris comes from Greek language and means rainbow. What a beautiful coinsidence !
Lets talk about Iris a bit more:) Her head is needle felted and hair are made of suri alpaca hair. I have cleaned the locks myself, stitched into a weft and crocheted into a wig using 100% mohair yarn. Her body is entirely needlefelted up to the plastic armature that allows her to move. She can bend her head, legs, hands, stand freely (even on one leg;), sit etc. Her skin is 100% cotton jersey, special for dollmaking. Milo the Rabbit is made of cotton mix Kartopu yarn (85% cotton, 15% polyester) and filled with polyester fiberfill. Iris’s wardrobe includes:
- dress
- panties
- ballerina tutu
- ballerina shirt
- grey high-neck
- skirt
- crocheted romper
- shorts
- white shirt
- jacket
- jacket matching hat
- straw hat
- leather shoes
- crocheted shoes
- felt shoes with embroidery
Iris is perfect for doll collectors and older children. Not recommended for young children.
